On June 24, 2021, the annual meeting of the SILAB - Jean PAUFIQUE Corporate Foundation was the occasion to gather close to 100 participants in SILAB’s nice amphitheater in Saint-Viance (near Brive-la-Gaillarde) for the presentation of its 14th winner and the research projects currently supported by the Foundation.
This meeting, chaired by Brigitte Closs-Gonthier, administrator and scientific director of the Corporate Foundation, included members of the scientific council and some members of SILAB staff.
Léa Dousset, the brilliant 2021 prize-winner, explained her research project that obtained the Foundation’s financial support for the next three years: “Therapeutic targeting by cell profiling of aggressive forms of Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)”. Her work is being conducted in INSERM unit U1035 at the University of Bordeaux under the direction of Dr. Hamid Rezvani (dermatology and cancer team, BMGIC).
This scientific meeting was also the occasion to follow the progress of the work of the four previous winners: Solène Besson (2020), Aïda Meghraoui-Kheddar (2020), Marine Cordonnier (2019) and Joudi Bakar, the 2018 prize-winner who presented the results of her thesis.
The meeting ended with a moment of friendly exchange among winners, Foundation members and SILAB staff.
